Other VIDEO PROJECT Comments

Danielle Da Costa- Motion and Dance- really cool how the actual frame moves. Than the addition of the different camera views was neat with an awesome pixelated closing.

Sebastian- Breadown of a dying Bread- Great use of effects in the video. The interviews were interesting along with audio to go with them. the de-contextualization of a computer generation was a creative idea. It was dragged out but i did like the use of a actual drug user in comparison to the facebook users.

Abby- very cool. unfortunatley there was no sounds but the idea was there. I think you could have turned the camera and got a panoramic view.

Carnation of Rain (largo do Carmo) is a wonderful piece of art and commemoration to the people of portugal, demonstrating the first bloodless revolution that Europe has seen in recent years. In a town square in Lisdon, carnations look to be suspended in the air. I was curious so i scrolled down to realize it was a video. I played the video and found that is was raining carnations. This work is like a  photo booth background  that picks up anything actually going on in the square but with flowers falling behind them. This work can only be seen through the use of a smart phone or device with internet access.

RICK GENEST

Exhibition's unifying theme is transgressive and alternative beauty, that is "beautiful people". Rick Genest is  Canadian fashion model but has gained more fame being Zombie boy. Now an artist, he performs in many pieces of work. One video in particular i found most interesting is the brazilian short film Aquario. Zombie boy plays a lovely yet scary roll. It is truly art and an amazement at the same time. Recent success has brought more popularity to Rick or Rico, making himself an actual work of art that people can gaze at and be astounded.

electro spanish music

The remaining videos on the in the electric music are just like examples from a above. All the videos have been remade like reinventing the wheel but adding technology to combat the terrain or new listeners. My favorite of these videos is the Michel Cleis ft toto la Momposina, strictly rhthym with the use of technology to change the feel to electric in a more upbet tempo.  The bomba estereo video by fuego is something else; she reminds me of a Niki Minaj type character that brings a lot of attitude towards her singing.
